Such scenes of heaven and earth
as the blue sky amid the mountains,
rippling waves upon the water,
shadows of clouds within a lake,
hazy light at the edge of plants,
the look of flowers under the moon,
and the movement of willows in the wind,
that are there and not there,
half real and half illusion,
such are the things most likely to please
the human heart and eye,
and to expand one's mind and spirit:
truly, these are marvels of the world!
