Vicki Niolet
Mixed Media

Vicki Niolet has been working in mixed media for over 25 years, drawing on her background in papermaking, photography, and ceramics. In June 2008 she received a prestigious MS Arts Commission Individual Artist Fellowship recognizing her 3 dimensional works; jurors compared her style to that of Joseph Cornell, with additional wit and insight.

Her latest show, "Habitats for Insanity", featured her most recent humorous mixed media assemblages and music boxes.

Niolet has exhibited at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, the American Crafts Festival at Lincoln Center, in galleries across the country and was recently interviewed on The Huffington Post website. She has also published two books of photographs and commentary about Hurricane Katrina, "Parting Shots" and "West Side Stories". In addition to her mixed media and photography, she recently re-opened her quirky shop, "Paper Moon" with a new fine arts venue, "Eclipse Gallery" at 122 South Second Street in Old Town Bay St. Louis.
