As a classically trained musician, Joy shares an equal fascination and enthusiasm with the art of clay. “Art and Music are the perfect blend; both have rhythm, expression, tempo, melody, and form. As I work in my studio, there is always a variety of tunes playing; I often find myself working to the tempo of the music.
Joy has been a guest speaker and clinician at the Walter Anderson Museum, Lynn Meadows Discovery Center and Bay St. Louis Train Depot Gallery. She was recognized for her contribution to the arts by the City of Bay St. Louis in 2003. Her pottery has shown in Washington D.C. and New Jersey; her music performances include two shows at Carnegie Hall and performances in Italy, Germany and Austria.
