Shirley Hopes took her first art class in Satellite Beach, Florida in her early thirty’s. From that first class she was hooked on painting. After moving to Houston she was busy working and raising her family. She took art classes and workshops when schedule permitted. Prior to moving to Diamondhead, Shirley lived in Baton Rouge for twenty-years working in Real Estate. She continued her studies in painting at the Baton Rouge Fine Arts academy . Her subjects vary from flowers and birds to the character of an old man or a young girl. Media consist of watercolor, oil and acrylic.
