Barney Adams started Hunter Jaguar Studios in the spring of 1998. The name Hunter Jaguar came from a Maya creation myth. Barney has always been attracted to the Tao concept of Yin/Yang and the Maya myth reflected a similar idea. Barney has always approached his art by simply taking his place in its process. Clay, wheel, fire and Barney each do their part of process to create art. The team effort produces the piece and the quality of the work is reflected in the balance struck by each contributor in the process. This striving for balance is reflected in Barney's Studio Hunter Jaguar.
